LSD is a drug famous for it’s psychological effects and influence on the arts. All over the world people have been experimenting with said drug and their work has been altered heavily. Famous cases include The Beatles, Jim Morrison and Dennis Hopper.
In light of this, reddit user Whatafinethrowaway asked her friend to draw a series of self-portraits whist under the influence of LSD.
She spent 15 to 45 minutes on each drawing.
It didn’t seem hard for her to focus, I was quite impressed by that. She just loved what she was doing. I don’t know if the change of styles was on purpose or not.
Here’s what on her trip…
15 minutes after taking 200µg.
“Are you feeling anything?”
“Those are some bright colours!”
“Yeah. That’s probably gonna get worse”
1h 45 minutes
2h 15 minutes.
“That was a good idea, buying coloured pencils.”
3h 30 minutes
“I didn’t draw the eyes. Do you want me to draw the eyes? I don’t feel like drawing the eyes.”
4h 45 minutes
“Here you go. I’m violet.” … “Usually, I draw the eyes at the very end, because I don’t want the picture to look at me while I’m drawing it. Here, I didn’t want the picture to look at me at all.”
“I lost the black pencil. I only had the coloured ones.”
6h 45 minutes
8h 45 minutes
9h 30 minutes
“Do you want to draw a last one? Like, a normal one? – I’ll try.”
There seems to be no correlation between the time gaps but you try and introduce formality and order to someone who’s trippin’ balls.
