You know when you buy a lottery ticket and spend the next five minutes imagining how you’d spend your millions? Well, this woman actually spent five minutes thinking that she had won millions, only for it all to be taken away from her.
Veronica Castillo put $100 into a slot machine at Lucky Eagle Casino and moments later it was telling her that she had won $8 million. Imagine what a kick that must be.
Annoyingly for Veronica she didn’t get long to enjoy her millionaire status. Within a few minutes the casino manager came over and told her that the machine had malfunctioned and that she had actually won $80. Considering that she had put $100 into the machine in the first place, it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth.
The slot machine does have a sticker saying that ‘malfunctions void all pays and plays’. When asked how they knew that the machine had malfunctioned, the casino manager said:“$8 million, there’s no machine in the state that pays that.”
Veronica is understandably more than a little cheesed off at how it all panned out.
“To me, it’s cheating, may even be fraudulent. My first thought was, how many people has this happened to? They think they won, then they’re going away empty-handed.”
She is now seeking out a lawyer to try and claim the winnings in court instead.
Well, you know what they say…
