This is the touching moment that a pianist paid tribute to the victims of the Paris terror attacks, with his impromptu and beautiful rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine.
The musician cycled up to the Bataclan Centre with his Piano in tow on Saturday morning, the day after 127 people were killed in a wave of violent attacks across the French capital.
He performed his version of the John Lennon classic only metres from where armed attackers stormed a concert by US band Eagles of Death Metal.
His gesture was caught by the various media outlets reporting from the spot, and could be heard in the background of CNN’s reports. The clip of his performance went viral not long after being filmed and posted on YouTube.
Pianist in Paris playing Imagine (by John Lennon) as @CNN covers the attacks. Hats off to the musician bringing the voice of love in music.

What a moment. Someone just cycled to the cordon by the Bataclan with a baby grand, played Imagine by John Lennon and left.

That person rolled a grand piano outside the concert hall in Paris, he is now playing John Lennon’s ‘Imagine.’ Freedom will always reign
