School. An age of pre-pubescent crushes and learning things you’re still yet to use in day-to-day life.
But it’s not the point of endless complicated equations that we’ve got issues with today. It’s that a nine-year-old boy is being threatened with sexual harassment charges for sending his crush a note…
The youngling of Tampa Bay, Florida wrote a note to his crush saying “I like you” and “I like your eyes because they sparkle like diamonds” which really is something that you’d expect from a Hugh Grant film. You can imagine him at a wedding or something seeing a diamond-eyed girl and bumbling as he tells her that he likes her.
Cute, right? Wrong. 100% sexual harassment, apparently.
The headmaster found out and took action when the other pupils began to tease the boy for wanting to see the girl naked. The teacher went on to say it “wasn’t appropriate that he was writing the note”.
Speaking to ABC, the boy’s mother said:
“What little kid doesn’t write love notes? My 9-year-old doesn’t even know what sexual harassment means” which is fair, to be honest.
Hillsborough School District defended their position as, due to the notes being apparently unwanted, it borders on sexual harassment. The school will file “sexual harassment charges” against the boy if he writes another note.
