Ronda Rousey Opens Up About Her Suicidal Thoughts After Holly Holm Defeat

In her first interview since she was beaten by Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey has discussed with Ellen Degeneres how low that defeat took her.

In a brave and candid interview, the MMA star explained how lost she felt, immediately following the defeat:

“I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself, and that exact second I’m like, “I’m nothing. What do I do anymore? And no one gives a sh*t about me anymore without this.”

She went on to reveal that it was her partner Travis who helped her through this – her “lowest” – as “I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.”

Ellen praised Ronda for admitting that she had had suicidal thoughts, remarking that other people suffering from depression might be helped, knowing that somebody so strong as Rousey could feel so vulnerable.

“You just did a lot of good for a lot of people, so thank you for saying that”.
