Conor McGregor Remains Humble After Shock Defeat To Nate Diaz

It was a night of shock results at UFC 196, with both Holly Holm and Conor McGregor suffering shock defeats. Holm was defeated by Miesha Tate, and McGregor lost to Nate Diaz.

Diaz forced McGregor to submit in the 2nd round, here’s the moment it was all over.

It was McGregor’s third ever defeat, and his first  in UFC. He had gone into the fight as the overwhelming favourite, winning all seven of his previous UFC fights.

He said afterwards:

“I took the chance going at 170. I felt I took him the first round but I was inefficient with my energy. But I’m humble in victory or defeat and I respect Nate. He came in and took the fight at short notice and done the job.

“He was efficient – I wasn’t – that was it. I feel I hit too much arms but these things happen. I’ll learn, I’ll grow. I took a chance going up weight and it didn’t work out. It is what it is. I’ll face it like a man, like a champion, and come back.”
