Raise your glasses, because to celebrate her 90th, the Queen will be extending pub hours on her fake birthday.
(Although she actually hits the big 9-0 on the 21st April, her official birthday is always on a Saturday in June – the 11th this year).
As announced in Prime Minister’s Questions, to celebrate this special birthday, pubs will be allowed to open for an extra two hours on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of June.
This coincides with both England and Wales’ first games in the Euros.
This isn’t the first time pubs have been allowed extended opening hours: they had an extra couple of hours when William and Kate got married in 2011, for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and for the World Cup.
Roll on June.
