Today marks a very sad day in the music world, as it has been announced that David Bowie had died peacefully, aged 69.
The singer’s son, Duncan Jones, confirmed that David had died after an 18-month battle with cancer. A statement on the star’s official Facebook page said that:
David was famously very private, and it had not been released publicly that he was battling cancer. He celebrated his 69th birthday on Friday by releasing his 29th studio album – Blackstar.
With hits including the fantastic ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Under Pressure’, David Bowie will be remembered as one of the most groundbreaking and influential British musicians of all time.
Our thought go out to his family at this sad time.
